- Mahmoud to get quotes for moving for electricity, plumbing, phone, etc. for moving his house.
- Rom has been keeping pressure of FENCO to give us a quote, however they are very busy at present. FENCO charge approximately $300 a square metre.
- Dave Hyatt will be approached about some possible consultation regarding the design and placement of the sound deadening wall, so that we can measure out the dimensions of the wall and create an estimate.
- NCCI requesting to council that the handover of the lease on Peace Park be deferred for a year to allow resolution of the situation with the skatepark.
- Council Environmental Health staff have been approached concerning the reaching of an agreement with council about appropriate sound levels for the park.
- Our next meeting will be on Friday June 20th 4pm, back of the Oasis.

- Some new sponsorships have come in from the community, $2000 from the rainbow power company, $500 from Blade rd Recyclers, some possibilities of what advertising can be offered were discussed.
$500 brass sponsorship - space on the website
$1000 silver sponsorship - space on the website and fence
$........? gold sponsorship - yet to be decided
- Any physical advertising or signage would be provided and maintained by the sponsoring entity
- The offer from CANNA was submitted in writing and discussed by FONS at Fridays meeting, there was a general feeling that some of the conditions outlined in their offer need to be discussed further. A suggestion made in the offer is that the park be named "Canna sk8 bowl" this may be considered for a limited duration, but will also be decided based upon the other types of funding involved in completing the park
- It was proposed that the tests involving Klara for the Hemp walling be performed ASAP and in a very simple manner. As simple as constructing a small wall with the small metal jump ramp behind, then taking recordings in varying positions to determine the effectiveness. The recommendations prepared by AIR NOISE ENVIRONMENT PTY LTD suggested that where acoustic barriers are specified, they should have a mass greater than 12 kg/m2 and must be complete (ie, free of air gaps at the base and between panels or palings). Council's position on this was more conservative, so we will be looking to increase this mass considerably. We are hoping that Klara can attend next meeting.
- There is a meeting at council next Tuesday 10th of June concerning the future of peace park, there will be no opportunity for discussion for the FONS with council at this time, but we will have a rep. there to get the lowdown. It was also felt that it would be wise for the FONS to attend the NCC (formerly the NCDA) meeting on the 19th of June to assess the level of committment from the NCC towards the skatepark DA, and how the FONS can make progress in terms of agreeing on a direction which will suit all parties.
- Our next meeting will be on Friday June 6th 4pm, back of the Oasis.

- Due to the madness of getting ready for Mardi Grass fundraising, minutes from the last few meetings have not been recorded and therefore are not on display, from now on we will be meeting every two weeks.
- The section 96 amendment to open the ramp for limited hours prior to completion of the park was submitted to council on Tuesday 29th of April. Following the advice of Alex charles (and an offer to pay the fee) this was submitted with a request that the fee be waived. Since then word has come back from council that a fee needs to be paid with the S 96, and it needs to be submitted by the NCDA. FONS has no authority to make this submission and it is agreed that we should focus on our original objective, which is to soundproof the park and have it open permanently. Anyone wishing to pursue this amendment further should take it up with the NCDA board or Lismore council.
- We will be seeking a figure for an acceptable decibel level for council, this is vital for the completion of the skatepark . 'Canna' has offered us up to $50,000 if we can guarantee the success of the project, without a guarantee from council that we will be able to have the park open (assuming the soundproofing is adequately addressed) we will have a lot of trouble securing any large grants.
- We are in need of a structural engineer who is willing to work with the idea of a hemp wall, while we are hoping that a hemp wall will be structurally sound enough, we will be seeking a quote from FENCO for the sound deadening wall...just to see what they say about it.
- The FONS raised $2500 over the Mardi Grass weekend through selling T-shirts and Raffle tickets, Left over t-shirts may be sold through the Hemp embassy, Bringabong, Zac Price, and or the website. If they continue to sell well, then we may print more as an ongoing fundraising effort.
- Money raised over Mardi Grass will go towards such things as rust treatment, paying for and fixing the fence, finishing the welding and continuation of fundraising.
- We will be pushing to start trialling the hemp masonary being made by Klara Morasszeky, hopefully she can make it to the next meeting.
- Elly leaves us this week to prepare for her baby, thankyou for all of the energy you have given to this group El, we will miss your presence at these meetings, best of luck with the babe.
- Our next meeting will be on Friday May 23rd 4pm, back of the Oasis.

- we will be attending the first school assembly of next term to give the schoolkids a bit of a pep talk about the park and invite them to take part in the fundraising, could be a good time to orchestrate some selling of raffle tickets
- mahmouds' house definitely can be shifted, which is a big win for the skatepark
- Nearby residents have been approached inviting them to a private meeting to discuss our proposed amendment to the DA for an early opening, concerns were raised, but the positive thing to come out of it is that the residents know they are not being excluded from the process
- apologies for the randomness of this weeks meeting, such is the nature of a voluntary collective, thankyou to everyone who made it

- A letter has been written to the nearby residents inviting them to meet with the fons so that we can talk about submitting a section 96 amendment to the DA which will allow a limited opening of the ramp before the official opening.
- We will need to submit a DA amendment to build the next stage of sound mitigation, which will be enclosing the sub voids of the ramp, possibly with hemp masonary, plans will need to be included in this. As the early opening of the park involves a occupation certificate (this is what council willl grant us if we are allowed early access to the park) council will require completion of the skatepark component of the peace park DA. This means that we finish all welding, get a structural engineer to sign off on the work, erect signage stating conditions of use, provide a management plan for litter control and waste management and have council staff visit to effectively certify that the work is complete.without completing these requirements council is very unlikely to approve an occupation certificate.
- The fence has been removed repeatedly during the week, and a significant portion is now damaged, we will have to pay to fix this. There is $700 in NCDA account, $590 in FONS account.
- Alan Ross suggested we get TURSA involved soon, start working on small sound mitigation bits and pieces, capping exposed framework, putting sand in the coping to stop the vibration/clanging, working on rust. Having teams down there will show people something is happening. Duncan has spoken with Tursa recently and they need up to six months to put together a new team, but are still very supportive of the project. obviously we will be trying to get someone in there sooner.
- We will be posting some basic minutes from each meeting on the website, giving monthly updates to the Nimbin Goodtimes, appproaching the high school to have updates in their newsletter as well as giving regular press releases to northern star and echo, while not overdoing it.
- Preparations for our fundraising efforts at the mardi grass continue, Duncan will prepare t-shirt image to give to Dave Hyett. Klara has donated a hemp buddha to the raffle, and various businesses are being approached to provide prizes.
